❃ Sacabambaspis ist ein prähistorischer Kieferloser, der für seinen markanten, knöchernen Kopfschild und seinen länglichen, abgeflachten Körper bekannt ist. Dieser Urfisch, der vor über 460 Millionen Jahren lebte, hatte einen mit Schutzplatten bedeckten Körper, der an die frühen Stadien der Wirbeltierentwicklung erinnert und die Anpassungsmerkmale des frühen Wasserlebens aufweist.

Wie andere Kieferlose seiner Zeit besaß er weder Zähne noch Kiefer und ernährte sich, indem er kleine Partikel und Plankton aus dem Wasser filterte. Sein Körper war stromlinienförmig und ermöglichte ruhiges, gleichmäßiges Schwimmen, wodurch er sich gut an die sanfte Strömung prähistorischer Gewässer anpasste.
