Its long, lightweight skull carried a pair of thin, rounded crests rising above the eyes, giving it an unmistakable silhouette. With a slender body, powerful hind legs, and a long balancing tail, it was built for an active life among the forests and floodplains of the ancient Jurassic world.

They were too delicate to serve as weapons, and scientists have suggested they may have played a role in display or recognition between individuals. Beneath them was a narrow jaw lined with sharp teeth, suited to a carnivorous diet, while its long limbs suggest an agile predator capable of moving efficiently across the landscape in pursuit of prey.

Fossils discovered in Arizona have provided important clues about this early theropod and the ecosystems it inhabited. 4. Smooth any flattened or creased fur with your fingers or a soft brush as it fluffs back up.
5. Want to speed things up? Use a hairdryer on low, warm heat, held about 20cm away. Keep it moving and use short bursts between fluffs. Never use high heat.
