❃ Hidden among the forests of Asia, the Titan stag beetle is an impressive member of the stag beetle family, recognized by its broad, flattened body and enormous antler-like mandibles. Usually dark black to black-brown, its armored appearance and powerful jaws give it a formidable presence despite its relatively compact body. The species Dorcus titanus is widely distributed across parts of South and Southeast Asia, with regional forms extending into countries including Japan, China, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
❃ The male's spectacular mandibles are its defining feature. Lined with smaller teeth and larger projections, these powerful jaws are primarily used during contests with rival males, as they wrestle for access to feeding sites and mates. Adults commonly visit tree sap, while the larvae spend their development hidden inside decaying hardwood, transforming fallen wood into an essential nursery for the next generation.
❃ Mostly associated with forest environments, Titan stag beetles can be found from lowland habitats into mountainous regions, depending on the population. Their life begins deep within rotting wood before they emerge as adults equipped with hardened wing covers, strong legs, and unmistakable jaws. Ancient-looking yet highly specialized, the Titan stag beetle is a striking example of how the forest floor can conceal some of the insect world's most extraordinary creatures.

2. Give it a good fluff — gently knead the body and work the limbs, wings, ears, or tail to redistribute the filling.
3. Let it breathe. Most plush regain their full shape within 1–3 days, while larger or denser designs can take up to a week.
4. Smooth any flattened or creased fur with your fingers or a soft brush as it fluffs back up.
5. Want to speed things up? Use a hairdryer on low, warm heat, held about 20cm away. Keep it moving and use short bursts between fluffs. Never use high heat.
