❃ Il Sacabambaspis è un pesce preistorico senza mascelle, noto per il suo caratteristico scudo osseo sulla testa e per il corpo allungato e appiattito. Questo antico pesce, vissuto oltre 460 milioni di anni fa, aveva un corpo ricoperto di placche protettive, che ricordavano le prime fasi dell'evoluzione dei vertebrati e mostravano i tratti adattativi delle prime forme di vita acquatica.
❃ Lungo circa 20 cm, il Sacabambaspis scivolava negli antichi oceani con movimenti lenti e cauti. Come altri pesci senza mascelle del suo tempo, era privo di denti e mascelle, e si nutriva filtrando piccole particelle e plancton dall'acqua. Il suo corpo era affusolato per un nuoto calmo e costante, rendendolo adatto al dolce flusso delle acque preistoriche.
❃ Essendo uno dei primi vertebrati conosciuti, Sacabambaspis svolge un ruolo importante nello studio dell'evoluzione dei vertebrati. Il suo scudo osseo forniva protezione dai predatori, rappresentando un adattamento evolutivo precoce osservato in specie marine successive.

Bought this for my girlfriend and she absolutely loved him!
