❃ The red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) is an iconic amphibian native to the lush, humid rainforests of Central America and northern South America. Spending the majority of its life high in the forest canopy, this nocturnal climber is celebrated for its dazzling neon-green body, bright blue-and-yellow striped flanks, vibrant orange webbed feet, and oversized, ruby-red eyes with vertical slit pupils.
❃ While the frog's brilliant coloration might seem conspicuous, it serves as a clever survival mechanism known as startle coloration. During the day, the red-eyed tree frog tucks its legs beneath its body and closes its eyes, blending seamlessly into green foliage. When disturbed by a predator, it abruptly pops open its large crimson eyes and flashes its bold flank markings, momentarily shocking and freezing the attacker long enough for the frog to leap to safety.
❃ As agile nocturnal hunters, red-eyed tree frogs use suction-cup pads on their toes to navigate slippery leaves and branches in search of crickets, moths, flies, and smaller invertebrates. Unlike toxic poison dart frogs, they are completely non-venomous and rely solely on camouflage, stealth, and agility to thrive. Striking, acrobatic, and instantly recognizable, the red-eyed tree frog is one of the most beloved ambassadors of the tropical rainforest.

2. Give it a good fluff — gently knead the body and work the limbs, wings, ears, or tail to redistribute the filling.
3. Let it breathe. Most plush regain their full shape within 1–3 days, while larger or denser designs can take up to a week.
4. Smooth any flattened or creased fur with your fingers or a soft brush as it fluffs back up.
5. Want to speed things up? Use a hairdryer on low, warm heat, held about 20cm away. Keep it moving and use short bursts between fluffs. Never use high heat.
